PRODUCTION PROFILE
The Candra Benawa Getas Festival, a cultural event held in Getas Village, Cepu District, Blora, was successfully held along the banks of the Bengawan Solo River. This festival was organized with the aim of commemorating the past glory of the Bengawan Solo River as a major trade route, which played a significant role in the history of trade and the life of the surrounding communities.
The festival involved residents from five villages located in East Java and Central Java, including Getas Village (Blora), Ngloram Village (Blora), Jipang Village (Blora), Payaman Village (Bojonegoro), and Tebon Village (Bojonegoro). The event was attended by Blora Regent, H. Arief Rohman, as well as the board of directors of BUMD BKS PI Blok Cepu, who actively participated in this vibrant cultural celebration.
The Candra Benawa Getas Festival featured a series of engaging events, including the Nyadran Akbar Sekar Benawa, a traditional ritual in which local communities clean and honor their ancestral lands. In addition, there was the Pasar Kambang Bengawan Sore, a local market showcasing various regional products and traditional cuisine that attracted visitors from different regions.
The festival also hosted the Festival Benawasastra, a cultural event that featured local arts and literature in the form of performances, theater, and cultural exhibitions. The highlight of the festival was the ceremonial handover of the BKS PI Blok Cepu plaque, symbolizing the company’s contribution to the development of the region and the local community.
Through the Candra Benawa Getas Festival, it is hoped that the community will become more aware of and preserve the rich local culture, while also boosting local tourism and the economy of surrounding villages. This event also served as a platform to strengthen bonds between residents of different regions and to remind everyone of the significant role the Bengawan Solo River has played in the history of trade and culture in Indonesia.
